本授業の目的およびねらい

本授業科目は，専門的学習のツールとして外国語の能力を高め，異文化理解を深めて，国際社会に相応しい教養を育むことが目的である。
英語・英語文化にかかわる様々な主題についての文献・資料調査、調査に基づく英語による口頭発表など、少人数授業の利点を生かした学習活動を行い、研究拠点大学である名古屋大学の学生にふさわしい学術英語の運用能力をさらに高めることを目指す。

無し。All materials provided by the instructor.

注意事項

対面授業に加え、課外学習としてe-learningを課し、その成績に基づく評価を授業全体の評価の２０％とする。なお、５回以上欠席をした場合、「欠席」の評価がつく。履修取り下げ制度は採用しない。

The purpose of this course is to help students improve their foreign language proficiency, understand foreign cultures, and acquire the knowledge required in a global society. In a small-sized class, students will conduct literature reviews, write a research report and give a presentation on topics related to English language/cultures. Students are thus expected to become competent users of academic English.
