| 本授業の目的およびねらい | | 本授業科目は，自然科学系分野の諸現象について，それらの諸現象を学際的，総合的に分析，把握する能力を育むとともに，他の学問分野との関連性について理解することが目的である。
当講義では３つの異なる「自然史」的分野を対象とする。まず進化生態学の分野から、どのようなメカニズムが生物の分布や多様性に影響し進化してきたのかを考える。次に長い地質時代の時間軸を通じた生物進化を振り返る。最後に動物の多様な行動がその機能形態学とどのように密接に関係しているのかを明らかにする。 |

| 担当教員からのメッセージ | | "Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution" is a famous words by an eminent biologist. This lecture focuses on the diverse world of animals and plants and on their evolution, namely on the area of natural history. Firstly this lecture considers the mechanisms that have influenced distribution and diversity of organisms from the area of evolutionary ecology. Secondly this lecture focuses on evolutionary paleontology, considering patterns and mechanisms occurred in the long history of life. Lastly, behaviors of various animals are considered in relation to the functional morphology.
「進化を考えない生物学は意味を持たない」。これは有名な生物学者の言葉です。この講義では動物や植物の多様な世界とその成り立ちを研究する分野、すなわち「自然史」をベースに生物進化を考えます。植物生態学、古生物学、動物機能形態学という異なる立場から、最新の研究成果の紹介を含めて講義を行います。一般的に「マクロ生物学」と呼ばれる分野に含まれます。 |
