| 授業の目的 【英語】 | | | This course helps students to understand the significance of publicness or public sphere in which our lives. |

| 到達目標 【日本語】 | | 現代の脱工業化された社会の状況は，１９，２０世紀の工業社会と異なり，私的領域と公的領域の鮮明な区分がしだいに解消され，不透明化するようになった。
このことは知や情報の領域でも公私の連携や情報交換の活発化を意味しており，連携事業が積極的に進められるとともにプライヴァシー保護などに独自の問題ももたらしている。
この授業では，こうした現状を公共性の変容ととらえ，Ｈ・アーレントやＪ・ハーバーマスの公共性転換論などを参照しながら，現代の公共（連携）の問題を一方で歴史的視点，
他方で比較社会論的視点もふまえて，あるべき公私関係の方向を探る。 |

| 到達目標 【英語】 | | | The goals of it are to (1) obtain basic knowledge about publicness and its historical changes, (2) understand the relationship between the model and present situations. |

| 授業の内容や構成 | | 講義とともに，アーレントやハーバーマスの文献，新型公共管理論などの研究文献についての受講者のレポートを織り交ぜ，ディスカッションを含めて授業を進めていく。
このことで，古典的理論情報がどう生かされ，また留保されるかなど，問題を歴史的，比較社会論的に把握して思考する訓練を行う。

7. 市民的公共性の現在 | This course will be controlled in Japanese and consist of lectures by the instructor, presentations by students, and discussions among them using some texts of the theme as follows:
1. Introduction of what publicness is
2. The overview of theories on publicness
3. Arendt’s theory of public realm
4. Habermas’ theory of structural transformation of public sphere
5. The changes of publicness after 19th century
6. So called “New Public Management”
7. The present situation of civic-public sphere

| 履修条件・関連する科目 | | |

| 成績評価の方法と基準 | | | レポート７０％，授業への取り組みを３０％で評価し，合計１００点満点で６０点以上を合格とする。 | Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
a. Class attendance and presentation: 70%
b. Small research paper: 30% |

| 教科書・参考書 | | | 欧文（英文，独文）を含めて関連する参考資料を配布するほか，授業のなかで必要な文献を紹介する。 | | Some texts and materials of the theme will be distributed or introduced in classes. |

| 課外学習等（授業時間外学習の指示） | | | 提出する課題について授業中にプレゼンテーションを行い，レポートにまとめる。 | | Students are requested to turn in assignment to make a presentation of the theme, and submit a small research paper. |
