| 授業の目的 【英語】 | | | This seminar focuses on presentations and discussions, concerning master thesis while examining the basic research of social issues. Assignments, such as the selection of a thesis topic, literature review, data collection, analysis, and writing are decided through consultation with students. Students will be able to learn necessary skills and methodologies for their thesis writing. |

Will be discussed with participants. Following items and their variations will be basic contents.
・Selection of research topics, literature review
・Methodologies for data collection
・Data analysis and writing
・Reading assignments
Participants are expected to digest designated assignments and make presetations in almost all the sessions. Preparation prior to and/or after classes is required. |

| 成績評価の方法と基準 | | | Attendance (including oral presentations): 80%＋Term papers (first semester= book review, second semester= progress report of master's thesis): 20%. Credit is given to C- or C (where applicable) or higher grade for each criterion. |
