The objective of this course is to create awareness regarding the business environment and the strategies adopted by successful organizations in emerging markets such as India. The focus would be on understanding the various strategies followed by multinational companies, including the Japanese organizations, in manufacturing industries, such as automotive and pharmaceuticals, as well as the challenges involved in operating the service sectors such as healthcare, ecommerce and airlines. The course would also touch upon the evolution and current challenges faced by the Indian agriculture sector, and the impact on environmental sustainability. Specially, students are expected to enhance their understanding of challenges faced by the Japanese businesses in the context of emerging and developing economies such as India.
