| 授業の内容や構成 | | 環境を考える上での、重要な概念の一つである「持続可能な発展」について、持続性（sustainability）という尺度と環境学（environmental studies）という分野を通じて理解する。 持続性及び環境学について、1)社会/社会科学の観点、2)自然科学的知見、3)都市という空間、の3つの観点から理解し、説明できる。 持続性に「安全」という概念を含めて説明できる。

さらに講義時間外での学習として講義内容に関連したレポートを課す。 | The lectures are to be given by several lecturers that may include external guest speakers. Sustainability covers broad areas. It is therefore inevitable that the course consists of various topics. The course tries to clarify the topics from three viewpoints, namely: 1) Society and/or social sciences, 2) Observation and data by natural sciences, and 3) Urban and spatial perspective. One common element that should be noted here is “safety”.

| 履修条件・関連する科目 | | |

| 成績評価の方法と基準 | | | レポート（１００％）。毎回出席して、次回の予定について指示に従うことが必須である。また、講義は、基本的に、英語で行われる。授業への出席率が８０％未満の者は不可とする。 | Evaluation is carried out by reports (100%). Students have to attend all lectures as the schedule for the next class will be announced in the previous class. Those with less than 80% attendance in the class will not be evaluated.
The course withdrawal request scheme does not apply to this course.
