| 授業の目的 【日本語】 | | 【授業の目的】災害リスク軽減，環境保全など都市や地域の開発・管理に関連した地球規模課題に果敢に取り組む能力を身につけるため，都市や地域の持続性および安全・安心性に関する基本的な知識やそれらを高める方法論に関する理解を深めることを目的とする．
【到達目標】授業終了時に，以下のことができるようになることを目標とする．
・都市や地域の持続性や安全・安心性の意義が理解できる．
・都市や地域を持続可能で安全・安心にするための重要事項を分かり易く説明できる．
・都市や地域の開発・管理に係る諸問題について総合的に思考することができる．

| | | 授業の目的 【英語】 | | This course helps students deepen understanding of the basic knowledge of and methodologies to improve sustainability and safety and security in urban and regional areas in order to acquire the ability to tackle and solve global issues in urban and regional development and management relative to disaster risk reduction and environmental conservation.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- understand the significance of sustainability and safety and security in urban and regional areas,
- clearly explain important matters on building and improving sustainability and safety and security in urban and regional areas , and
- synthetically consider issues related to land development and management in urban and regional areas.

| | | 到達目標 【日本語】 | | | | | 到達目標 【英語】 | | | | | 授業の内容や構成 | | ○COVID-19への対策のため，授業は基本的にはオンラインで実施する．ただし，第1回目の授業（10月6日に実施）は，ガイダンスのために対面にて実施する．ガイダンス時に，COVID-19影響下における授業の実施方法の詳細を説明する．
【授業の構成】以下に示すテーマについての講義を行う．
1) 都市や地域における持続性
2) 世界における重大な自然災害
3) 都市や地域における災害リスク管理
4) 国土管理の事例
5) 地域における経済成長活動と環境問題
6) 都市空間の開発方法
講義に加えて，他者との議論を通じて受講生各自の理解を深めるために2回のワークショップを実施する．ワークショップではグループ討議，グループ代表者による成果発表，および全体討議を行う．受講生はグループ討議および全体討議への出席が必要である．さらに2回の課外レポートが課される．毎回の授業冒頭で行う小テストで前回の授業内容の理解を確認する．
| The course will be basically conducted over the Internet as a preventive measure against coronavirus (COVID-19), while the first class will be conducted with face-to-face on October 6 for guidance of the course. At the guidance, the course implementation method under the COVID-1 is introduced in detail.
The course will consists of lectures on the following topics:
1) Sustainability in urban and regional areas,
2) Significant natural disasters in the world,
3) Disaster risk management in cities and regions,
4) Environmental pollution linked to human activities for economic growth,
5) Examples of land management, and
6) Methodologies for urban space development.
In addition to the lectures, two workshops will be held for deepening students’ understanding through communication with others. Each of the workshops consists of group discussion, presentation of the outputs by a representative of each group, and discussion in which all students participate. Students are required to participate in the workshops. Outside of the class, two individual assignments will be give, and students are required to submit a report on each assignment not later than the due date. There will be a quiz to check student’s understanding of the course contents learned at the beginning of every class. |
