食と農は、最も身近な存在であるがゆえに、現代社会が抱える様々な課題を映し出している。本授業では、食と農のグローバル化が進む中で生じている様々な変化とその対抗的動きについて、これらをどのように社会学的観点から理解できるか、またその社会経済文化的意義について概説する。受講者数に応じて文献購読を組み合わせる。
【到達目標】
農業および食料をめぐる新たな変化とその背景について理解を深めると共に、これらの現象について社会学的観点から理解し、持続可能なフードシステムを展望できるようにする。

Agriculture and food are now attracting wider public attention. As a newly developed sociological field, I would like to review sociology of agriculture and food through focusing on various changes, such as globalization and counter-movement, scientization of farming, standardization of food, and so on. Reading session would be included depending on the number of students.
【到達目標】
Students are expected to understand various aspects of agriculture and food from the sociological viewpoints, and cast their own critical views toward the future vision for more sustainable food system.
