地球表層の地殻から深部のマントル-コアの構造、及びプレートテクトニクスに関する基礎的な知識を学ぶとともに、背景にある物理メカニズム，地球内部で生じている様々な現象及び個々の学問分野との関わりについて学び、固体地球に関する全体像を把握することを目的とする。
【到達目標】
この授業では，受講者が以下の知識・能力を身につけることを目標とする。
1）地球の層構造を理解する。
2）プレートテクトニクスに関する物理的メカニズムとそれに関連する現象を包括的に理解することができる。
3）固体地球に関する全体像を把握し、総合的な地球科学的視点を養う。

| 授業の目的 【英語】 | | 【Objective】
Learn the fundamental knowledge of the earth's surface crust to the deep mantle-core structure and plate tectonics. This course aims to grasp the overall picture on the solid earth through learning about the physical mechanism behind the various phenomena occurring inside the earth and the relationship with a field of different academic areas.
【Course outcomes】
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Understand the layer structure of the earth.
2. Understand the physical mechanism of plate tectonics and related phenomena.
3. Get an overview of the solid earth and develop a perspective of global earth science.

| 授業の内容や構成 | | 〇秋学期の授業は、対面授業にて行う。教室は理学部Ｅ館Ｅ１３２室とする。
初回の授業は、１０月７日から開始する。
【授業の構成】
1. 地球深部科学：層構造と相境界
2. リソスフェアの運動とダイナミクス（プレート運動、地震活動、火山活動）
3. 地殻表層での物質循環
【授業時間外学習】
授業の冒頭に、前回の授業の内容に関する質問を行うので、各受講者は講義の内容を復習しておくこと。 | Fall semester class is conducted in a face-to-face. The classroom is Room E132 in the E building.
The first class will start on October 7.
【Contents】
1. Earth's Deep Interior: Layer structures and their phase boundaries
2. Kinematics and dynamics of the lithosphere (plate motion, seismicity, volcanism)
3. Material cycle in the crust surface
【Student duties】
At the beginning of the class, students will be asked questions about the contents of the previous class. Students are required to review the contents after attending class. |
