地質学から見た地球規模課題について，習得した知識をもとに深く思慮し，果敢に取り組み，次世代の新しい学術分野を創造する能力を身につける．
専門的な論文を読み，その内容を正確に把握し，その問題点や自分の研究との関連性を理解することができるようになる．

The aim of this course is to help students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge needed to solve global issues from the viewpoint of geology and acquire the ability to create new academic fields for the next generation.
This course is to help students acquire the abilities to understand the problem and significance of the scientific papers in relation to your research, when you read some papers.

授業の内容や構成
本セミナーは，博士前期課程2年生を対象に行い，地質学，岩石学，古生物 学などの博士研究に関係深い分野の論文の内容について，簡潔にまとめ，発表する．発表のために，時間外に論文を数編読み，プレゼンテーションの準備を行う．また履修者は本セミナーで実施される研究倫理教育ガイダンスの受講を必須とする．
This seminar is for second year masters students. Students are expected to read a series of related scientific papers on a subject in fields related to their own research such as geology, petrology and paleontology. They are also expected to present the information in front of the other members of the group.
Students are expected to read scientific papers in fields related to their own research such as geology, petrology and paleontology out of this class hour and to prepare own presentation.
All participants are required to attend the Guidance session on research ethics conducted as part of this seminar.
履修条件・関連する科目
成績評価の方法と基準
出席回数と各人の発表における理解度，まとめ方，発表の方法などに基づいて評価する．
論文の内容をわかりやすくまとめて発表することを最低限の合格基準とする．
Estimate based on the degree of understanding, construction and method of presentation.
The minimum passing criterion is to present the contents of the dissertation in a clear and concise manner.
