| 授業の目的 【日本語】 | | 社会学の目的は社会学を学ぶことではなく、社会そのものを研究することにある。古典的な作品を検討する場合でも、愛好家が美術品を鑑賞するような態度ではなく、プロの姿勢で、独創的な研究設計のコツを盗むつもりで読まなくてはいけない。この授業では、そのような本の読み方を身につけてもらいたい。

| 授業の目的 【英語】 | | The purpose of sociology is not to study sociology, but to study society itself. Even when reading classics, we should read them in a professional manner, with the intention of stealing the tips of creative research design, rather than an attitude of an enthusiast to appreciate artworks. In this seminar, participants are required to learn such a way of reading and thinking.

| 授業の内容や構成 | | 1) 社会学や社会政策の分野における社会科学的思考法を身につけてもらう。
2) 具体的には、研究設計の立て方や社会調査の方法について、実践的かつ批判的に検討する。
3) 一日も早く自分自身の研究活動にとりかかれるよう激励し助言する。
4) 論文を執筆中の受講者に研究報告と建設的討論の機会を提供する。
なお、履修者は本セミナーで実施される研究倫理教育ガイダンスの受講を必須とする。

1) To equip students with social scientific way of thinking in the field of sociology and social policy.
2) To examine practically and critically how to design academic study and conduct social research.
3) To encourage and advise students to start up in their own research activity as soon as possible.
4) To provide students with opportunities for presenting their research and for receiving constructive comments.
All participants are required to attend the Guidance session on research ethics conducted as part of this seminar.
***Though the seninar will start on April 23rd, it may be replaced with remote class depending on the situation. Those who want to attend the seminar should send email to kamimura@nagoya-u.jp beforehand. |
