国際政治学の理論や方法論への理解を深めることを目的とする。
<野村教授の担当分>
環境教育学への理解を深めることおよび、受講者の研究プロジェクトに関する議論・指導を行うことを目的とする。（なお、環境政治セミナーと補完関係にあるため、同セミナーも受講することが望ましい。）

* 因果的な推論方法に関する知識と技術

* 環境教育の歴史や政策、実践、理論に関する基礎的な知識。
* 研究の方法論の一層の理解。

This seminar is designed for students of the Environmental Law and Politics Unit(Kankyo Hoseiron Kouza).
The aim of this seminar is to learn about the basic theoretical debates in the field of International Relations as well as about different methodologies used to study international relations.
The aims of this seminar include studying the history, policy, theory and practice of environmental education, and discussing the research projects of seminar participants.
(This seminar is complimentary to his Environmental Politics Seminars A-D, and therefore the participants of this seminar course are strongly recommended to take them as well.)
【Learning Outcomes】
After completing this course, students should have a basic understanding of:
* essential concepts and theoretical debates in the field of International Relations and
* different methodologies for analyzing international relations.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
* have a basic understanding of the history, policy, theory and practice of environmental education.
* have a further understanding of research methodology. |

また、履修者は本セミナーで実施される研究倫理教育ガイダンスの受講を必須とする。
<山田教授の担当分>
国際政治学の理論および方法論に関する文献講読を行うとともに、セミナー参加者の遂行する研究に対して議論を通じて適宜指導を行う。
<野村教授の担当分>
環境教育学に関する文献講読や、セミナー参加者の研究発表を元に、議論・指導を行う。

【Contents】
This seminar is designed for students of the Environmental Law and Politics Unit(Kankyo Hoseiron Kouza).
All participants are required to attend the guidance session on research ethics conducted as part of this seminar.
Students are required to read assigned literature concerning International Relations theories and methodologies and also to advance their own research agenda in close consultation with the instructor.
Seminar participants will read books and articles related to the history, policy, theory and practice of environmental education(EE).
Participants are also required to give presentations about their own research.
The basic and tentative schedule is as follows, covering approximately one topic per week.

Students are required to read the assigned reading material beforehand and prepare comments for discussion.
This is a seminar module. Its success and your achievement will depend upon your knowledge of the readings, your readiness to participate in discussion, and the quality of your oral and written work.
Student Requirements:
* Weekly readings should be done prior to each session.
* Students are expected to contribute to seminar discussions regularly. This requires that you come to seminar prepared to talk in detail about the assigned readings and key questions for each session provided in the reading list. |
