本授業科目は，初年次生を大学教育へ導入し，自立した学習能力を身につけるとともに，文・理に共通した基礎的学力や技能を養うために，多面的な知的トレーニングによって，コモンベーシックとしての読み，書き，話す能力のかん養を図るとともに，真理探究の方法と面白さを学ぶことが目的である。

NetLogoを用いて事前につくられたモデルを動かしますが，事前の技術や知識は必要ありません．発表に向けての準備は授業外の時間でも実施します．様々な問題を積極的に理解し，議論に参加する姿勢を期待します．

Message from the Instructor
In this class, we explore emergent dynamics of various complex systems composed of many agents by using an agent-based modeling environment called NetLogo, which is an open-source software. The participants experience an introduction to programming with NetLogo. Each group picks up an example model from a library and conduct experiments and analyze the phenomenon, and discuss its significance by presenting the essence of the model. The participants learn basic skills of reading, writing, thinking, and discussion through the class activities.
