Goals of the Course [JPN]
皆さんは大学に入学され、希望に満ち、半ば緊張した面持ちで毎日を過ごしておられることと察します。一方私は長年大学に籍を置き、特に最近大学の変容を目にし、これからの大学の姿に期待しつつも危惧を持っています。このセミナーでは、大学とはどのように誕生したのか、どのような歴史を経て現在に至っているのかを、日本と海外の例をひも解きながら皆さんと議論したいと思います。そしてどのような姿がこれからの大学として相応しいのかを考えて行きたいと思います。今までの大学についての知識は不要です。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
I guess everybody who wishes to attend this seminar is spending lively days with hopes, and is also facing new things with some nervous emotions. On the contrary, I have spent years in universities, and in these days I fee that universities is experiencing increasing changes, and I am wondering if Japanese universities are heading to a right direction. This seminar aims to learn how universities were established in early days, to trace their histories, and to consider how our universities should exist in the society in future. Previous knowledge about universities is not necessary to take this seminar.
