Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | This course is intended to cultivate students’ understanding of the English language and/or English-based cultures in the modern world. Building on the skills aquired in the basic-level through advanced-level courses, students will further their reading skills in academic English. |

Objectives of the Course [JPN] | | | AEB、AEI、及びeラーニングによって培った英語の読解力を用いて、さらに高いレベルの、また多様な英文の読解を通じて、現代社会における英語文化についての深い教養を養う。 |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | | This class will emphasize frequent and meaningful communication with classmates in an active environment. Students will improve their abilities to comprehend and analyze various types of English language texts, including newspaper / magazine articles, interviews and profiles, and short stories. By participating in group and class discussions, they will also strengthen their abilities to express their viewpoints about source content. Students are expected to read texts outside of class in order to focus on discussion during class sessions. |

注意事項
Notice for Students | | | 文学部学生を対象に開講する。５回以上欠席をした場合、「欠席」の評価がつく。英語検定試験による単位認定を申請する学生以外は、履修取り下げを認めない。Attendance is crucial in this class. Beginning with their second absence, students’ participation scores will be lowered for each class they miss. Plagiarism (盗作) is strictly prohibited and will result in automatic failure of the course. |
