Goals of the Course [JPN] | | | 私たちは自らが望む善き生を実現しようとするが、そのためには様々な資源を必要とする。そうした資源は希少であり、また不平等に配分されてきた。本講義では、私たちが善く生きるために必要な資源を創出、拡大し、またより平等に 配分するための闘争的実践を「開発」と捉え、主に政治学の視点から、その課題を検討する。その際、現地の人びとのリアリティに寄り添いながら途上国の経験を理解する。 |

授業の目的 【英語】
Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | We are human beings who need various resources to pursue and realize our visions of “good lives.” Yet, such resources are scares and unequally distributed. This lecture defines “development” as contested practiceｓ to generate, expand, and (re)distribute such important resources. We try to understand complicated processes of “development” from the perspective of ordinary people in developing countries using analytical framework of political science coupled with ethnographic fieldwork. |

Message from the Instructor | | | 私は、大学生時代にボランティア活動を通じてフィリピンの人びとの優しさに感激し、フィリピンを大好きになりました。これまでは、文化人類学的なフィールドワークを通じて理解した現地の人びとのミクロな視点から、民主主義や貧困といったマクロな問題について考えてきました。現地の社会で暮らす人びとをよく知らないまま、「国際開発」を議論したり、実践したりするのは危険です。「善く生きる」ということについて、フィリピンの人びとのリアリティに触れながら、「私たち」自身の問題としても考えを深めていきたいです。 |
