授業の目的　【日本語】
Goals of the Course [JPN]
本授業科目は，自然科学系分野の学問体系を認識するとともに，自主的判断能力を培うことが目的である。
化学は、物質の成り立ちを明らかにするとともに、物質の示す様々な性質や変化・反応を研究する学問です。本授業は、現代化学の理論的基礎の学習を通じて、様々な物質に対する理解を深め工学上の問題解決のための思考力・判断力を養います。高校の化学と物理で学習した内容を復習しつつ学んだあと、物質を構成する原子・分子の構造ならびに化学結合の起源について、ミクロの世界の理論である量子論に基づいて理解します。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
The purpose of this course is to recognize the academic system of natural science fields and to cultivate the ability to make independent judgments.
Chemistry is the study of the formation of matter and the study of the various properties, changes, and reactions that matter exhibits. In this class, students will deepen their understanding of various materials and develop the ability to think and make decisions to solve engineering problems through the study of the theoretical basis of modern chemistry. After reviewing the contents learned in high school chemistry and physics, students will understand the structure of atoms and molecules that constitute materials and the origin of chemical bonds based on quantum theory, a theory of the microscopic world.

本授業では、指定テキスト「理工系学生のための化学基礎」の1章から5章までを履修します。特に3章以降は量子論につながる、重要ですが難しい内容を含みますので、十分に自宅での学習時間を確保してもらいたいと思います。
