授業の目的　【日本語】
Goals of the Course [JPN]
「進化を考えない生物学は意味を持たない」。これは有名な生物学者の言葉である。この講義では動物や植物の多様な世界とその成り立ちを研究する分野、すなわち「自然史」をベースに生物進化を考える。まず進化生態学の分野から、どのようなメカニズムが生物の分布や多様性に影響して進化してきたのかを考える。次に長い時間軸を通じた生物学から、どのようなパターンとメカニズムで生物進化が起きてきたのかを振り返る。最後に動物の多様な行動がその機能形態学とどのように密接に関係しているのかを明らかにする。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
"Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution" is a famous words by an eminent biologist. This lecture focuses on the diverse world of animals and plants and on their evolution, namely on the area of natural history. Firstly, this lecture considers the mechanisms that have influenced distribution and diversity of organisms from the area of evolutionary ecology. Secondly this lecture focuses on evolutionary paleontology, considering patterns and mechanisms occurred in the long history of life. Lastly, behaviors of various animals are considered in relation to the functional morphology.
