Goals of the Course [JPN] | | | 近年、自然環境の変異・破壊が加速度的に進行し、社会問題として重要視されつつある。その一方で【環境問題】としてひとくくりにされる分野はあまりにも多岐に渡り、また人間社会との関係性も単純ではない。本授業科目では【環境問題と人間－Environment and Human Interface】という観点から、関連する自然科学系分野の諸現象について，それらを学際的，総合的に分析・把握する能力を育むとともに，他の学問分野との関連性について理解することを目的とする。 |

Goals of the Course [ENG] | | | In recent years, the drastic change and destruction of the natural environments have been progressing at an accelerated pace, and are becoming an increasingly important social issues. On the other hand, there are so many different backgrounds together with such "environmental issues," and the relationships between them and human society is not also simple. The purpose of this course is to develop the ability to analyze and understand various phenomena in the related natural-science fields in an interdisciplinary and comprehensive manner from the viewpoints of "Environment and Human Interface", and to understand the relationship with other academic fields. |

Objectives of the Course [JPN] | | | エネルギー・マテリアル問題について、また資源生産の場として注目を集める陸域（森林）生態系とそれに関連する気候・土地利用等について、大気、水、土、森林、野生動物、あるいは農業、高分子材料などをキーワードとしながら現状を認識し、議論に参加するための広範な基礎知識を習得するとともに、持続可能社会をめざす上で農学領域として取り組むべき課題、すなわち森林の修復・回復や環境保全、資源利用のあり方について考える。 |

Objectives of the Course [ENG] | | | In this course, the students will acquire a broad basic knowledge to recognize the current situation and participate in discussions on energy and materials issues, terrestrial (forest) ecosystems, which are attracting attention as a site for resource production, and related climate and land usage, using keywords such as atmosphere, water, soil, forests, wildlife, agriculture, and polymer materials. Further, the students will also consider issues that should be addressed in the field of the agricultural sciences, namely, the restoration and recovery of forests, environmental conservation, and resource utilization etc., to achieve a sustainable society. |

Message from the Instructor | | | 地球規模での議論では、価値観の相違からその認識を異にすることも多く、どのような目標を打ち立てるべきなのか、統一的な見解が得られないこともあります。また時代の変遷とともに地球環境に対する捉え方も変化します。誰かの意見を聞くとき、自分の意見をまとめるとき、その議論・意見の根拠となる科学的な知見の正しい理解は重要になります。本講義では広範な範囲を取り扱いますが、データの意味はフラットに、結論を導くときにはその背景にある価値観を意識しながら、取り組んで頂ければと思います。 |
