Goals of the Course [JPN]
本授業科目は，自然科学系分野の諸現象について，それらの諸現象を学際的，総合的に分析，把握する能力を育むとともに，他の学問分野との関連性について理解することが目的である。
物質やエネルギーを扱う化学の歴史は人類全体の知恵と創造力だけでなく思想や精神における成長の記録でもある．しかし、人類の抱える課題は時代によって変わっていくが未来永劫，有益なものが遺されていったわけではない．
授業の目的　【英語】
Goals of the Course [ENG]
The purpose of this class is to develop the ability to analyze and understand various phenomena in the field of natural science in an interdisciplinary and comprehensive manner, and to understand their relevance to other academic fields. ..The history of chemistry dealing with matter and energy is a record of growth in thought and spirit as well as the wisdom and creativity of mankind as a whole. However, although the issues facing humankind change with the times, it does not mean that useful things have been left behind in the future.

本授業の目標は、これまでの物質やエネルギーに対する人類の関わりを知るとともに、現在、人類が抱える問題を理解し、未来に向かって人類が果たすべき責任について、各個人が考えるきっかけを作ることである。

The goal of this class is to understand the relationship of humankind to substances and energy so far, to understand the problems that human beings have now, and to create an opportunity for each student to think about the responsibilities that human beings should achieve toward the future. .

Message from the Instructor
The goal of this lesson is to learn about humankind's involvement with materials and energy in the past, to understand the problems that humankind has in the present age, and to create an opportunity for each individual to think about the responsibility that humankind must fulfill in the future. 先史以降，いつの時代も人類は絶えず様々な問題を抱え，その解決を図るために叡智を振り絞ってきた．そして自然の中にある物や現象を利用し，人類に有効な人工物へと換える術を見出していった．その起点は火であろう．火の活用は錬金術に繋がり，それを礎にして化学はやがて純粋科学としての深耕とともに染料，冶金，薬品，化学物質の合成など様々な分野へと拡大していった．そして今日の我々の生活がある．本講義では単なる化学の知識を伝えるというより、文理の枠を超えて人類共通の課題を考えたいと思います。
