「西洋の衝撃」以後の時期において、東アジア地域－ただし、日本・中国・朝鮮半島に限定－に存在した国内・国際政治にかかわる精神的営みの歴史を当時のコンテクストから理解する。今年度は、民主主義を対象とする。

The goal of this lecture is to understand the history of spiritual activities related to domestic and international politics that existed in the East Asian region-but only in Japan, China, and the Korean Peninsula-after the "Western Impact" from the context at that time. This year, we will focus on democracy.

この演習では、比較政治思想史の観点から東アジアにおける民主主義の伝統、受容、展開について考察する。演習は、民主主義に関する入門的な書籍を読むことで、議論のためのコンセンサスを築くことから始しまる。そのあと、大正デモクラシー・安保闘争（日）、5.4運動・天安門事件（日）、4.19革命・87年民主化（韓）にける民主主義に関する言説を検討することで、東アジア各国の民主主義の思想的展開への理解を目指す。
