到達目標 【英語】 Objectives of the Course | | Upon completion of this course, participants are expected to have: (1) attained a general understanding of the subject of International Relations; (2) attained familiarity on various theoretical concepts to analyze global issues; (3) become able to provide a coherent presentation and discuss in a critical and academic manner. |

授業の内容や構成 Course Content / Plan | | The course will adopt a seminar style of interactive teaching; hence participants are required to complete the weekly required reading, participate in class discussions and give a presentation. Each class will begin by a student presentation on the required reading.
The theme for this year will be International Relations of Asia. Students will pick a chapter from the textbook in which they would like to make a presentation on.
Course schedule (1) Introduction: Explanation on how the course will be run, followed by assigning presentations. (2) to (13) Each class will cover a chapter (or two) from the textbook. Student presentation followed by class discussion. (14) and (15) Discussion based on end-of-term essay. |

成績評価の方法と基準 Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | Evaluation will be based on the following criteria. 1. Contribution to class discussions: 40% 2. Quality of presentation: 30% 3. Quality of end-of-term essay: 30% The above criteria will be added up to compile your final mark. Benchmark for a passing grade: refer to the student handbook (C grade is above 60%). |

注意事項 Notice for Students | | I will inform you on how to obtain the textbook at our first class. It would be best if you can consult the table of contents of the textbook beforehand by searching it on the internet, in order to choose the chapter you will like to make a presentation on. If several people want to make a presentation on the same chapter, we might have to sort things out at our first class so it will be advisable for your to think of 2nd and 3rd choices of chapters. |

遠隔授業(オンデマンド型)で行う場合の追加措置 Additional measures for remote class (on-demand class) | | 遠隔授業はNUCTで行う。教員への質問方法、学生同士の意見交換の方法は次のとおりとする。なお、教員より別の指示がある場合は、その指示に従うこと。 ・教員への質問は、NUCT機能「メッセージ」により行うこと。 ・授業に関する受講学生間の意見交換は、NUCT機能「メッセージ」により行うこと。 (※担当教員が「フォーラム」機能を追加設定した場合は「フォーラム」も利用可。) Remote classes are conducted via NUCT. Questions to instructors should be asked using the NUCT "Message" function. Student discussions will be conducted using the NUCT "Message" function. (If the instructor has added the "Forum" function, the "Forum" can also be used.) Follow your instructor's directions if your instructor has any other directions. |
