Goals of the Course
This course aims to deepen the students’ understanding of the concepts covered in Introductory Microeconomics I by developing a more accurate mathematical framework. Several applications, like price indices and taxes, are discussed to illustrate the potential of the analysis.
At the end of the course, students will be able to solve the consumer problem with exogenous and endogenous income, to understand how uncertainty affects decisions, to solve the problem of the firm, and to calculate the market equilibrium under perfect competition and monopoly.
