To learn how to construct low-energy effective models of QCD (QuantumChromo Dynamics) based on symmetries, and how to analyze hadron physics using the effective models.

Course Content / Plan
1. Introduction
2. Symmetries of quarks and hadrons
3. Quantum field theory (a brief explanation for needed parts)
4. Spontaneous symmetry breaking and effective theories
5. Chiral symmetry in QCD
6. Chiral Lagrangian
7. An effective model including vector mesons based on the hidden local symmetry
8. Effective models including nucleons
9. Effective models for heavy hadrons
