授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
本特論は、国際開発国内実地研修実習(DFW)に参加する学生を対象とし、調査地に関する情報、および日本社会が直面している課題や研究手法についての知識を提供するものである。学生は本特論を履修することにより、調査地の現状や自身の調査題目に関連する議論を理解し、現地調査の準備ができるようになることを目指す。2021年度のDFWは「People vulnerable to COVID-19 in Nagoya city」について調査を実施する。
授業の目的 【英語】
Goals of the Course
This course aims to provide the students who join GSID Domestic Fieldwork (DFW) with information about the fieldwork site and knowledge related to issues in Japanese society and research methods. Students will be able to understand the field site situation and current discussion related to their research topics to get ready for the fieldwork. The main theme of DFW 2021 is “People vulnerable to COVID-19 in Nagoya city.”

• Learn about issues in Japanese society with COVID-19.
• Acquire skills needed to plan fieldwork.
• Acquire skills to conduct interviews with various stakeholders.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
Six classes aim to provide information about the field site and related topics. Three classes aim to provide knowledge about research methods. One day visit to the field site before the DFW is also scheduled in this course. Students are required to do two group presentations.

1. Introduction to DFW 2021
2. Situation of COVID-19 in Nagoya city
3. People vulnerable to COVID-19 in Nagoya city (1)
4. People vulnerable to COVID-19 in Nagoya city (2)
5. People vulnerable to COVID-19 in Nagoya city (3)
6. People vulnerable to COVID-19 in Nagoya city (4)
7. Group presentation to share research interests
8. Research methods 1 (secondary data) [Joint class with OFW]
9. Research methods 2 (primary data) [Joint class with OFW]
10. Research methods 3 (interview practice)
11. Group presentation on the research proposal
12-14. Preliminary survey in Nagoya city
15. Group presentation on the research proposal
