授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | The lecture aims to provide students with an understanding that the tourism phenomenon has various aspects. It has both advantages and disadvantages about economic and social development, with global, national, and community levels. It also affects the natural environment. First, this lecture will review tourism economics. Then tourism-related issues will be discussed with students. For example, the demand and supply side of tourism, under tourism, over-tourism, taxation of tourism, tourism industries, economic, social, and natural environmental effects, and sustainable tourism. This lecture also deals with tourism statistics and analytical methods. Students will be required to make a presentation on the tourism of their country. These presentations will be a case study with discussion.
Tourism development and issues of their country with statistical analysis must be submitted as a term paper. |

成績評価の方法と基準 Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | Presentation 50%, Term paper; 50% Credit is given to C- or C (where applicable) or higher grade for each criterion.
Points of evaluation. - Regarding the discussion in the class, students require to explain the tourism events of their countries in terms of economic, social, and environmental aspects. - Regarding the term paper, all three elements of sustainable tourism should be included with statistical evidence. |
