テーマ：情報源符号化
データ圧縮の理論を確率論の応用として取り扱う分野。圧縮アルゴリズムの実装などが目的ではなく、基礎理論として圧縮のレート(単位桁あたりを送信するのに必要な平均ビット数)や歪み(元系列と圧縮・伸長後の系列と平均距離)の関係などについて調べる。

Theme: Source Coding Theory
In this seminar, we study the theory of compression for sequence which is generated by stochastic process. It is an application field of theory of stationary process.

授業は輪講形式で, 毎週1回2コマ連続で行う.
履修条件
Course Prerequisites
大学の確率論の基礎について学んでいること. (確率空間, 確率測度, 確率変数, 確率過程など)
定員超過の場合は, 面談に来た学生を優先する. それでも決まらない場合は面談内容に応じて教員が決定します.

このセミナーは日本語で行われます.
