授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN) | | 持続可能な社会の実現を図る際に必須となる価値判断の問題について、現実の社会に応用可能な考え方を身につけることを目的とする。具体的には
・環境保全を行う上での利害の齟齬や対立などのトレードオフの問題
・専門知と科学の不確実性
・世代間問題と世代内問題
といった問題群を対象とし、非強制的・非規制的方法によって対立構造そのものを解消するための理論的・実践的な可能性を検討する方法を身につける。

Goals of the Course | | The purpose of this course is to enable students to acquire ideas of handling with value judgement, which is essential for realizing a sustainable society. We focus on topics e.g.
・Trade-Off issues such as conflict between economy and environmental conservation
・Science knowledge and uncertainty
・inter-intra generational issues
We examine the theoretical and practical possibilities of resolving the conflict itself by non-mandatory and non-regulatory methods

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 環境問題や環境保全の事例を題材にしながら「科学に問うことはできるが科学だけでは答えられない問題（トランスサイエンス問題）」を扱うために必要な方法論や概念を習得する。具体的には以下のような問題群について象徴的な事例を扱いながら、受講者の主体的な学びを促すための講義、討論、ゲームなどを行う。
・科学の限界と価値判断（リスクコミュニケーション）
・環境倫理と人間ー自然関係（自然再生／野生生物問題）
・個別最適と全体最適のジレンマ（資源利用／エネルギー問題）
・予防原則と事前注意原則（気候変動／環境アセスメント）
・持続可能性における世代間問題と専門家依存（当事者性の限界／責任倫理）
・配分的正義と手続的正義（再生可能エネルギー／環境政策） | To learn the methodology and concepts necessary to deal with "questions which can be asked of science and yet which cannot be answered by science(trans-science problem)" while using examples of environmental problems and environmental preservation as subjects. Lectures, discussions, games, etc. are held to encourage students to learn independently, while dealing with symbolic cases of the following problem groups.
・the limits of science and the judgment of value (risk communication)
・Environmental Ethics and Human-Nature Relationships (Nature restoration/wildlife issues)
・Dilemma between individual and total optimization (Resource use and energy issues)
・Precautionary Principle (Climate change and environmental assessment)
・Intergenerational Issues and Dependence on Experts (Limitations of stakeholderness/responsibility ethics)
・distributional and procedural justice (Renewable energy and environmental policies) |
