Specifically, as for contemporary architecture and urban space, it is a goal to be able to analyze real architectural and urban spaces, and to consider and explain the results of their analyses logically, from the viewpoint of the functionalism established in 20th century and the environmental behavior paid attention in recent years, , with reference to the theories of relevant fields such as urban sociology, environmental psychology, human ecology, comparative culture theory, and so on. |

「発表と討論」は、数回の講義の後に、受講生による小レポートに基づくディスカッションを行い、講義内容の理解の深化と多角的な視点の共有を促します。 | This class will be held in a designated classroom, but can also be taken online (Zoom) at the same time.
The classroom is ES532, and the class will start on October 5th.
【Contents of class】
01. First of all, review architecture theories and their background based on functionalism in modern time, and understand these achievements and current issues.
02. Secondarily, understand the theoretical composition and the problems in adaptation to actual planning and design of the approach emphasizing the transactional relationship between human and the environment from the viewpoint of environmental behavior.
The lecture will be done along the explanations with rich examples comprising of community facilities, educational facilities, residences and public spaces.
In addition, after several lectures, discussion based on students' reports will be held, in order to make students' understanding of lecture deeper and to share diverse viewpoints. |

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | | 担当教員がレポートおよび発表・討論を課する。レポートや発表・討論の内容から成績評価する。総合点60点以上をC，70点以上をB，80点以上をAとする。レポート未提出者や発表・討論に欠席したものは「欠席」とする。 | | The instructor in charge of this lecture assigns reports, presentations and discussions to students. The contents of reports, presentations and discussions are evaluated. total score of 60 points and more is evaluated as "C", 70 points or more as "B", 80 points or more as "A". Those who have not yet submitted the report and those who were absent from the presentation or discussion, shall be "absent". |

Students' report mentioned above is require to make based on real examples to which students have been. Therefore, in after-hour class, it is needed to visit many good cases of architecture and urban spaces actually and analyze them according to the contents of the class. |
