Goals of the Course(JPN) | | 科学と技術の問題に注目しながら、環境保全を実現する際の利害の齟齬や対立といったトレードオフを扱う方法を身につける。具体的には、
・持続可能性の課題について、何を持続させるのかを問う視点
・全体社会—部分社会—個人という構造から課題を分析するための理論と調査
・環境保全を図る上で生じるトレードオフを解決するための方策
などを対象とし、非強制的・非規制的方法によって対立構造そのものを解消するための理論的・実践的な可能性を検討する。

Goals of the Course | | Learn how to deal with trade-offs such as economics and environmental conservation while focusing on science and technology issues. Specifically,
・Viewpoint of asking what to sustain, in issues of sustainability.
・Theory and research method for analyzing problems from the structure of whole society, subsociety and individual
・Measures to solve trade-offs in environmental conservation
We will examine the theoretical and practical possibilities of resolving the conflict through non-mandatory and non-regulatory methods.

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 科学的手法による事実認識や技術を用いた自然への介入は、持続可能な社会を実現する上での課題であると同時に可能性でもある。こうした科学や技術の両義性について具体的な事例の考察を通じて明らかにすると同時に、これを社会的に制御する方策についても検討する。
対象は資源利用、エネルギー、生物多様性保全などの諸課題を中心とする。授業の形式については、講義・文献購読・研究発表などを適宜組み合わせることとし、受講者の希望に応じて調整する。具体的なテーマについての相談にも応じるが、現段階では以下の内容を想定している。
１．再生可能エネルギーの社会的受容性
（再生可能エネルギー事業への環境影響、科学的予測の不確実性、当事者性と環境正義）
２．野生動物と獣害問題
（環境言説の権力性、複雑系としての人間ー自然系、「問題解決」の多元性）
３．市民参加型地域調査の手法と応用
（当事者性と環境正義、専門知と地域知、事実とアクチュアリティ）
４．食と農に関するリスクと社会的コミュニケーション
（信頼、科学知の可能性と限界、リスク社会）
５．自然再生と地域再生
（持続可能性、SDGs、コモンズ） | We will clarify the ambiguity of science and technology through concrete case studies, and at the same time we will consider ways to control it socially.
The program will focus on issues such as resource mngement, energy and biodiversity conservation. The format of the classes should be a combination of lectures, literature subscriptions, research presentations, etc., depending on the preferences of the students. Consultations on specific topics are also available, but at this stage the following are assumed.
1. Social acceptability of renewable energy
(Environmental impact on renewable energy business, scientific uncertainty, ownership and environmental justice)
2) Wild animals and animal damage
(Power of environmental discourse, human-nature as a complex system, pluralism of "problem solving")
3. Methods and Applications of Citizen Participatory Community Surveys
(Involvement and environmental justice, expertise and local knowledge, facts and actuality)
4. Food and Agriculture Risks and Social Communication
(Trust, Possibilities and Limitations of Scientific Knowledge, and a Risk Society)
5. Nature restoration and regional revitalization
(Sustainability, SDGs, commons) |
