政治学・行政学・政策学・地方自治・政治科学方法論の分野を中心とした比較的新しい文献ないし重要文献を中心に講読し、これらの分野に関わる近年の研究動向を把握することと、課程博士論文の水準を把握することを目的とする

Goals of the Course
The purpose of this graduate seminar is to read relatively new or important literature mainly in the fields of political science, administrative science, policy science, local autonomy, and political science methodology, and to grasp recent research trends relating to these fields, at the level of doctoral dissertation analysis.

Objectives of the Course
The goals are as follows:
(1)to be able to read the essential literature for research in this field and understand the theoretical flow.
(2) to be able to read and critically examine literature that is not directly related to one's field of specialization, and to be able to raise appropriate issues.
(3)to be able to summarize the literature appropriately and to be able to make coherent arguments.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
原則は、下記の文献リストにあるような海外で比較的評価の高い洋書を1回30-50頁、日本語であれば1冊のペースで読んでいく。

受講者のやる気によっては、AJPS,APSR,JPART,Governance,JSPなどEarly Viewに掲載された論文を参加者で討論・検討を行う、統計的因果推論やRやStataの演習、エスノグラフィやインタビュー調査の演習などをしても良い。適宜希望に合わせて調整する。

参加者全員が事前に文献を読んでくることを前提に担当者にはレジュメの作成、またその他の参加者全員に当日朝までの論点メモの事前提出を求める。

受講生の希望が一致すれば、Rによる基本的な統計、テキスト分析、GIS分析、質的調査にかかわる論文群なども購読・実習する。

Notice for Students
・初回の授業は現時点では、4月12日(月)の予定ですが、他のゼミ等との重複などがある場合は、参加者で話し合って時間割を変える予定です。そのため、4月10日(土)夜24時までに受講希望の人は担当教員まで必ずメール連絡をしてください。
・毎回の開講前までに連絡なく欠席・遅刻があった場合は評価対象としません。
・報告の分担や文献決めるため、初回の授業には必ず出席してください。
・参加するか否かの決断は、初回の授業時間中に行ってください。
・参加を決定し分担を決めてから、中途で脱落することは、他の参加者に迷惑を及ぼすため、やむを得ない場合を除いては慎むようにお願いします。
・自分で読みたい文献を探してきて皆に提供することも可能です。
