社会現象や自然現象を説明するモデルを考える場合、そのモデルを構築する法則は、物理量を変数とする方程式で表される。数値シミュレーションとは、様々な現象を数理的にモデル化し、得られたモデル方程式を数値計算して現象を解析することである。実験が困難な現象を数値的に解析することを解析することが可能となり、現象の理解が飛躍的に進む。この基礎セミナーでは、数値シミュレーションに必要となるプログラミングを学び、実際に身近な現象について数値シミュレーションのプログラムを作成する。数値シミュレーションの基礎について理解を深めることを目的とする。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
When considering a model that explains social and natural phenomena, a model is expressed by an equation with a physical quantity as a variable. Numerical simulation is to mathematically model various phenomena, numerically calculate the obtained model equations, and analyze the phenomena. It will be possible to analyze numerically phenomena that are difficult to do experiments. Our understanding of the phenomena will dramatically advance by numerical simulation. In this class, you will learn the programming required for numerical simulation and create a numerical simulation program for phenomena that are familiar to you. This class aims to deepen the understanding of the basics of numerical simulation.

統計解析に適した仕様を持つプログラミング言語「R」の基本的な利用方法、新型コロナの拡大などの身近な現象について数値シミュレーションするうえでの基礎を習得する。

Learn the basics of using the programming language "R", which has specifications suitable for statistical analyses, and the basics of numerical simulation of familiar phenomena such as COVID‑19 expansion.

R言語の基本は比較的短時間で習得できますが、本言語はオープンソースで開発されているため、多様な機能を有しています。十分に使いこなすためには授業と平行して学ぶ必要があります。授業では、数値シミュレーションを行うに最低限必要な基本だけ説明します。

受講生はノートパソコンを持参すること（遠方からの通学などの理由の場合は、お貸しすることもできます）。OSは Windows を推奨するが，Mac OS X あるいは Linuxでもかまわない。
