少人数のセミナーの形式で，大学で学び研究するための最も基本的なスキル（コモン・ベーシック）としての読み（文献調査，考察，検討），書き（まとめ，報告書作成），話す（討論，発表）を中心とした多面的な知的トレーニングを行います。さらに「知の探究のプロセス」と「学問の面白さ」を学び，自立的学習能力を身につけることを目的としています。教員の研究分野に応じて多様なテーマが用意されています。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
This course is conducted in the form of a seminar with small groups.We will provide multifaceted intellectual training focused on reading (literature research, consideration, examination), writing (summary, report writing), and speaking (discussion, presentation) as the most basic skills (common basic) for learning and studying at university.Through this,our goal is to learn the "process of knowledge exploration" and "the fun of learning" and to acquire the independent learning ability.A wide various of themes are prepared according to the research field of the instructors.

The participants learn basic skills of reading, writing, thinking, and discussion through the class activities by exploring emergent dynamics of various complex systems composed of many agents, using an agent-based modeling environment called NetLogo.

Notice for Students
NetLogoを用いて事前につくられたモデルを動かしますが，事前の技術や知識は必要ありません．発表に向けての準備は授業外の時間でも実施します．様々な問題を積極的に理解し，議論に参加する姿勢を期待します．

Message from the Instructor
In this class, we explore emergent dynamics of various complex systems composed of many agents by using an agent-based modeling environment called NetLogo, which is open-source software. The participants experience an introduction to programming with NetLogo. Each group picks up an example model from a library and conducts experiments and analyzes the phenomenon, and discuss its significance by presenting the essence of the model. The participants learn basic skills of reading, writing, thinking, and discussion through the class activities.
