Goals of the Course [JPN]
人を対象とした医学研究のデータに基づいて治療などの医療技術を評価し、意思決定を行う際の基本的な視点を身につける。少人数のセミナーの形式で，大学で学び研究するための最も基本的なスキル（コモン・ベーシック）としての読み（文献調査，考察，検討），書き（まとめ，報告書作成），話す（討論，発表）を中心とした多面的な知的トレーニングを行います。さらに「知の探究のプロセス」と「学問の面白さ」を学び，自立的学習能力を身につけることを目的としています。教員の研究分野に応じて多様なテーマが用意されています。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
To acquire basic perspectives for evaluation of medical technologies (such as therapeutics) and decision making based on data collected in medical studies with human subjects. This course is conducted in the form of a seminar with small groups.We will provide multifaceted intellectual training focused on reading (literature research, consideration, examination), writing (summary, report writing), and speaking (discussion, presentation) as the most basic skills (common basic) for learning and studying at university.Through this,our goal is to learn the "process of knowledge exploration" and "the fun of learning" and to acquire the independent learning ability.A wide various of themes are prepared according to the research field of the instructors.

医学研究を主に想定してデータの収集と解析の基本的な方法を学ぶ。併せて，英語文献の読み方や文献検索，プレゼンテーション技術等についても身につける。

Learn basic methods for collecting and analyzing data in medical studies. Also learn skills on how to search and review English papers and on how to making presentations.

Message from the Instructor
1990年代に欧米を中心にエビデンスに基づく医療（evidence-based medicine; EBM）という概念が提唱されました。ここでのエビデンスとは、医学研究で収集、解析されるデータに他なりません。本セミナーを通して、過去の医学研究からエビデンスを的確に評価し、願わくは将来日本発のエビデンスを自ら創り出す、そのための第一歩を踏み出してほしいと思います。
