Goals of the Course [JPN]
　私たちは，歴史的な文書を確実に後世に残して，将来の社会や人々に対する説明責任を果たすという，日本がおろそかにしてきた問題と，正面から向き合うべき時代に生きています。アーカイブズ学とは，アーカイブズ（記録史料）の管理，成立・構造・伝来，教育・普及などに関する研究から構成されており，歴史学，社会学，情報学など既存の学問分野と連携しつつ，独自な領域をもつものです。
　このアーカイブズ学の基礎を学ぶことにより，社会における文書史料の利用方法や，行政機関や企業おける情報公開・文書資料閲覧のサービス部門や文書管理部門の業務に役立つ知識を修得することを目的とします。

Goals of the Course [ENG]
　We live in a time when we must face the issue that Japan has been neglecting: the need to ensure that historical documents are preserved for future generations and that they are accountable to future society and people. Archival science consists of research on the management, establishment, structure, transmission, education, and dissemination of archives (recorded historical materials), and has its own unique field of study while collaborating with existing academic fields such as history, sociology, and informatics. By learning the basics of archival science, students our goal is to understand how to use documents and archives in society, and to acquire knowledge useful for the work of service departments and document management departments that provide document disclosure and material browsing services in government agencies and companies.

Message from the Instructor
　担当教員は文学部・人文学研究科で、日本近現代史を研究教育しています。アーカイブズは歴史学の研究に大きく関係するものですが、それだけではなく、現在を生きる私たちにも大きく影響を与えるものです。アーカイブズについては高等学校までではなかなか学ばない概念・存在かもしれません。しかし、だからこそ、ぜひ、その概念・存在を大学生の時に理解してほしいと思います。
　私自身、京都大学大学文書館という大学にあるアーカイブズに勤務していた経験があります。その経験についてもお話しできればと思います。
