Goals of the Course [JPN]
「線形性」は近代科学における数量的取り扱いの最も基本的な概念であり，さまざまな分野で用いられる。その線形性を数学的に扱う手法が線形代数学である。本科目は通年講義の前半として，行列の数学的取り扱いに習熟し，諸概念を理解し，また数理科学的な思考力や洞察力を培うことを目的とする。

Linearity is one of the most fundamental concepts in modern science, and it appears in various areas. The goal of this course is to understand the basics of matrix manipulations in view of linear algebra and also to develop mathematical thinking and insight.

Objectives of the Course [JPN]
行列の数学的取り扱いに習熟し，諸概念を理解する。特に，座標幾何学（平面，空間）による幾何学的理解，連立一次方程式の解法への習熟，行列式の概念の理解を重視する。

Objectives of the Course [ENG]
The objectives of students are to understand the basics of matrix theory and, in particular, to learn the geometry of planes and spaces, how to solve linear equations, the concepts of determinants, etc.
