授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | This course introduces key concepts, discourses, and figures in the fields of cultural studies and theory. In addition to theoretical approaches, you will learn important analytical techniques and interpretive strategies for cultural studies.
This class will build a foundation for further study in more advanced courses by providing you a set of tools to critically analyze (representations of) culture. By the conclusion of the course, you will have a clearer understanding of culture as a contested site for human discourse and action. You will also be more attentive to the “uses” of culture and the dynamics of power in society. |
