授業の目的 【英語】 Goals of the Course | | Pregnancy and childbirth are undoubtedly biological events, but they are heavily colored by culture and, of course, politics. This course will examine how women’s bodies and their capacity to bear children have been framed by public discourses since the Meiji period, beginning with literary negotiations of the “good wife, wise mother” ideology, and ending with contemporary speculative fiction in which pregnancy is no longer the prerogative of women. |
