Objectives of the Course(JPN)
The class will highlight the role of physics, chemistry, and computer science in the study of biological molecules. The students will familiarize themselves with protein structures and methods to study these as well as computer tools to visualize and analyze those protein structures.

Course Content / Plan
The course will cover structure of biomolecules (proteins, nucleic acids, membranes) before introducing biophysical techniques (experimental and computational) to characterize function/dynamics/folding of these biomolecules.

Such biochemistry textbooks might be helpful such as Lehninger’s Principles of Biochemistry. In addition, you may explore Protein Actions: Principles and Modeling, Introduction to Proteins: Structure, Function, and Motion.
