授業の目的　【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)

本講義では科学報道の役割とその責任について理解し、科学的成果を伝えるためのコミュニケーションスキルの習得を目標とする。
科学はそれ自体が創造的な営みだが，その意義や成果を社会に還元（提供）することで発展してきた経緯がある。しかし科学と社会との間には溝があり，必ずしもその財産を共有できていない。だとすれば，どこに問題があるのか？発信する人（科学者），伝える人（ジャーナリズム），受け取る人（社会，市民）それぞれの視点から科学報道の現状を観察し，立場の違いを理解する。その上で，どうすればよりよい関係が構築できるのか議論を通して考える。

授業の目的　【英語】
Goals of the Course

The goal of this lecture is to understand the role and responsibility of science reporting and to acquire communication skills to convey scientific results. Science is a creative activity in itself, but it has developed by returning (providing) its significance and results to society. However, there is a gap between science and society, and its assets are not always shared. If this is the case, where is the problem? We will observe the current state of science reporting from the perspectives of those who publish (scientists), those who communicate (journalists), and those who receive (society and citizens) and understand the differences in their positions. Then, we will discuss how we can build a better relationship.

実際の科学報道記事を例に，現代における科学報道の社会における役割や責任について学び，受講者自らが科学記事を作成することにより，科学的成果を社会に伝えるためのコミュニケーションスキルを学ぶ。

Objectives of the Course

This course deals with the role and responsibilities of science journalism by using real science news articles as examples. It also enhances the development of communication skills that convey scientific results to society by trying to write science news.

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria

・授業中に得た知識を用いて科学記事を作成することを合格基準とする。
・レポート試験(80％)と授業への取り組み(20％)により評価する。
・履修取り下げは認めない。・レポート提出のない場合はＷ（欠席）とする。
