Goals of the Course(JPN) | | | メディアアートは，情報技術を用い，その情報技術が創造する新しい価値を世に先んじて問うたり，同じ技術が取り得る別の可能性を引き出して見せたりすることを主たる活動とする。本講義では, そのようなメディアアートの歴史的展開を論じるだけでなく, メディアアート理解のために必要な過去の芸術作品や美学について論じる。それにより, 新しい価値ならびにその価値が孕む問題を, 社会に対し効果的に提示する方法を身につける。 |

Goals of the Course | | | The main activity of media art is to use information technology to ask the world ahead of the new value created by that information technology, and to bring out and show other possibilities that the same technology can take. In this lecture, we will not only discuss the historical development of such media art, but also the past works of art and aesthetics necessary for understanding media art. By doing so, students learn how to effectively present new values and the problems they entail to society. |
