授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN) | | 本講義では認知類型論という研究分野の入門として、以下の（１）～（３）を達成できることを目指します。本講義は前期の「言語類型論特殊研究」と合わせて受講されることをお勧めします。
（１）言語類型論と認知言語学、機能言語学の融合的研究分野である「認知類型論」という
学問の分析手法・説明に関する基礎的知識を身につける。
（２）認知言語学と言語類型論、認知類型論の相互関係に関する理解を深める。
（3）認知類型論の観点から見たときに日本語が世界の言語の中でどのような
特徴を持っているかを正しく理解し、自身の研究に活かして頂く。 |

Goals of the Course | | The objectives of this lecture class are the following:
(I) to familiarize the students with the analytical method and explanatory tools employed in Cognitive Typology;
(II) to facilitate the students’ understanding of the relationship between Cognitive Linguistics, Linguistic Typology, and Cognitive Typology;
(III) to help the students understand what are the prominent characteristics of the Japanese language relative to the languages of the world, and to apply the insight gained to her/his research topics. |

Objectives of the Course(JPN) | | | 言語類型論と認知・機能主義的言語学の融合分野である認知類型論の方法論、到達目標を理解し、日本語や他の個別言語の研究に応用し、レポート論文として発表することを目標とする。 |

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | （１）認知類型論という分野の全体像・方法論的な特徴を示します。
（２）認知言語学と言語類型論という二つの学問分野から認知類型論という学問が生まれるに
至った歴史的背景および認知類型論の主要な研究成果、今後の展望を示します。
（３）認知類型論の観点から見た日本語の特徴を具体的なケーススタディを通じて提示します。
第1週目: 授業で全体のスケジュールが示されます。
第2週～第15週:認知類型論の成立の経緯、方法論、ケーススタディ等毎回
特定の認知類型論のトピックについて具体例を通じ説明します。
This class will consist of the following components:
(1) Presentating an overview and methodologies of Cognitive Typology;
(2) Presentating the historical development of Cognitive Typology
as well major research findings & prospect thereof;
(3) Presenting the characteristics of Japanese from a Cognitive Typological
perspective through case studies.
The first week class: Introduction to the entire course schedule will be given.
The 2nd to the 15th week classes: The instructor will give a lecture each time on a
different topic in Cognitive Typology, with particular attention to the
cognitive typological profile of Japanese. |

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | （１）レポート（85％）：単に他の研究成果や文法書・辞書の記述をまとめただけで、
自分独自の分析・考察を欠いたレポートは相対的に評価が低くなります。また、
自分の方法論や仮説・主張を分かりやすく説明する工夫も評価の対象となります。
（２）授業参加（15％）
なお、5回以上講義を欠席した場合は、学期末レポートを提出しても単位を認定することができないので、注意してください。
(1) Term paper (80%): Please note that the content of the term
paper should include original ideas, not just quotations.
Also, plagarism must be avoided.
(2) Class participation including a in-class presentation (20%)
Please note that five absences will lead to the cancellation of the
registered class.
60点以上を合格とします。
To pass, students must earn 60 points in total. |
