Goals of the Course | | The purpose of this course is to enhance students' understanding of human social interaction through interdisciplinary perspectives on human use of language and body, and help them develop the creativity to explore and reexamine the existing theories of language from a new standpoint.
By the end of this course, students are expected to accomplish the following:
- understand and explain how people organize interaction
- analyze language and bodily conduct in naturally-occurring conversational data using conversation analysis
- develop a deep insight into human everyday actions
- correctly understand and summarize the literature in a new field
- apply the findings from conversation analysis to their own research |

| | 授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan | | 本授業では、自然会話データ（ビデオ）を用いて相互行為における人々の言語や身体動作の産出過程を微視的に観察する「会話分析（conversation analysis)」（相互行為分析）の研究手法を取り扱います。特に相互行為のマルチモダリティ（言語や身体動作の統合性）に焦点を当てた会話分析研究の論文を読み、自然会話データを実際に微視的に観察することを通し、言語と身体動作が相互行為の資源となって行為を形成する過程について学びます。その上で、相互行為研究手法の習得を目指します。
授業計画：

4. 会話分析の手法、会話の書き起こし
5. 相互行為のマルチモダリティとは
6. マルチモーダルトランスクリプトの作成
7. ELANによる分析手法
8-10. 会話の組織とマルチモダリティ
11-13. 様々な相互行為におけるマルチモダリティ
14. 会話データの分析練習
15. まとめ
受講生は、授業内で担当文献（主に英語論文）の要旨の発表を行うほか、積極的に議論に参加することが期待されます。
会話データ（音声もしくはビデオ）を既に収集済みの受講生は、それを発表する場も設けます。 |
