By taking this course, students will acquire the ability to think logically and express ideas using high-level writing and presentation skills.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
The lecturer will go over the differences between informal and formal/academic writing, before delving into the mechanics of thesis writing. Students will study the various parts of a thesis such as the abstract, introduction, methodology, analysis, discussion/conclusion and references. They will also practise their intellectual curiosity and study various research methods. They will have practice in giving presentations meant for audiences at conferences.

Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
Writing 40%, participation 30% and presentations 30%.
To pass, students must earn 60 points in total.
