Goals of the Course(JPN) | | グローバリゼーションとデジタル化の進展により，国内外の情報がリアルタイムで，国境を越えて共有される現在，国際社会でやりとりされる情報を，それを伝えるメディアの視点から分析することは重要である。
本講義では，国際関係やコミュニケーションに関する国内外の諸研究を批判的に検討しつつ，世論やソフトパワーといった基礎的概念のほか，応用研究や事例研究を検討しながら，分析枠組みについて学ぶ。 |

Goals of the Course | | | With development of globalization and advancement of digitalized information society, information at both international and domestic levels is shared across borders in real-time; it is thus important to analyze information that is exchanged in the international society from the view point of the media that communicate such information. This course critically reviews various kinds of studies in International Relations (IR) and communication research both at home and abroad in order to deepen understandings of basic concepts such as public opinion and soft power. The course also takes up some case studies and applied research on the relevant matters. |

メディア，とりわけマス・メディアによる報道が国際世論や国内世論，外交・安全保障政策，社会政策などの
公共政策に与える影響のメカニズムに関する応用研究や事例研究を批判的に検討する。

8. 総括 | This course starts with introduction of basic concepts and theories on International Relations (IR) and communication research through major research articles both at home and abroad. Also, it critically reviews some case studies and applied research on the mechanism of how the media, especially the mass media, can have an effect on international and domestic public opinion as well as on public policies such as foreign and security policies or social policies.

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria | | | 講義中に与える課題の評価５０％，期末レポート５０％で評価し，合計１００点満点で６０点以上を合格とする。 | | The final grade will be determined by the midterm assignment (50%) and the final assignment (50%), totaling 100 points. Those who acquire not lower than 60 points will pass. |
