Goals of the Course(JPN)

Nature, PNAS, Science などの一般ジャーナルの論文を自分の専門分野とは関係なしに、興味ある論文を読み、内容を大まかに把握し、毎回の授業の時にそれを発表する。分野横断的な広い知識を得ることと、その内容のおもしろさと重要性を発表する能力を養う。

Goals of the Course

Students will try to have the ability to read and understand rapidly the contens of general journals such as Science, Nature, PNAS. Students would obtain a cross-sectoral broad knowledge and to develop the ability how to present the importance of the contents.

To train the ability of students to read the English-written scientific manuscripts critically.

授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan

参加者が主体的に、Nature, PNAS, Science などの一般ジャーナルの論文から、自らの興味によって、発表する論文を選び、細かい手法や歴史的背景などを詳しく調べることなしに、論文のエッセンスを理解できるような読み方を、学習できるようにする。英語で論文を迅速に読む訓練とする。

Even except for the related fields that students are doing the research, students try to find interesting papers, roughly to grasp the contents, and to announce the essence in a given time in the class.

履修条件
Course Prerequisites

英語の科学論文を自分で読む力があることを前提とする。

This course will be taught mainly in Japanese.
