授業の目的 【日本語】
Goals of the Course(JPN)
本実習は、途上国での調査および異なる背景を持つ人々とのグループワークの機会を提供する。2022年度は、フィリピンで調査を実施する。学生は本実習に参加することで、現地調査に必要な基礎的技術を習得すること、また、グループワークを通してコミュニケーション能力や問題解決能力を高めることを目指す。

Goals of the Course
This Overseas Fieldwork (OFW) aims to provide students with an opportunity to gain experience conducting a research project about a developing country and group work with people who have different backgrounds. In 2022, students will conduct fieldwork in the Philippines. Students will be able to gain fundamental fieldwork skills and enhance their communication and problem-solving skills based on group work.

- Conduct an online research project in English.
授業の内容や構成
Course Content / Plan
A detailed fieldwork schedule will be announced at the Preparatory Seminar for GSID Overseas Fieldwork (OFW). Before going to the field, students are required to have regular group meetings to develop their fieldwork plan.

Note: The course Preparatory Seminar for GSID Overseas Fieldwork is a required prerequisite to participate in OFW
成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
Group report 40%, Group presentation 30%, Participation in group work 30%
Credit is given to C- or C (where applicable) or higher grades for each criterion.
Students have to submit the final group fieldwork report by the beginning of January 2023.

Study Load(Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours)
The course includes pre-lecture activities, classroom lectures and group work. Students should take responsibility to complete the required course work (preparation time is about 1 hour) and properly prepare for classes to ensure a complete understanding of the material.

- Those who are willing to take this course should attend the guidance at the beginning of April 2022.
- If the situation of COVID-19 gets worse, the fieldwork will be conducted online.

In principle, lecture and seminar course subjects are offered in-person.
Online participation in classes (interactive communication classes via Teams, Zoom, etc.) may be permitted by the instructor under exceptional circumstances.
*Guidance will be posted on NUCT if there are any changes in the class format, etc. after registration.
