講義の目的は経済学と経済分析に必要な統計学や数学の知識の復習にある。

Goals of the Course
All the students who are taking “Economic Development Policy and Management program” or who are not taking “Economic Development Policy and Management program” but plan to take economic subjects are advised to take. The course aims at 1. those who have not studied economics to acquire basic economics and mathematics which are required in graduate work and 2. those who have studied economics before to brush up their understanding on basic economics and mathematics.

The objective is to be able to manipulate macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics and mathematics, which are essential in studying and conducting economic analysis at a graduate school.

Students are not expected to have a solid background in economics since the lecture starts from introductory levels. However, having a background in economics is an advantage.
