This course introduces students to critical themes in the history and development of the dynamic and diverse region that is South Asia, focusing particularly on the countries of India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh as well as their neighbours in Asia and the Middle East.

成績評価の方法と基準
Course Evaluation Method and Criteria
• Book review: 40% mid-term essay (2500 words)
• Final essay: 60% individual research project (5000 words)

Essays will be marked on an A to a D scale. The criteria for passing the course is C- (D is fail).
