正標数の世界における周期の基礎理論を理解することが本講義の目的である．関数体上の周期の様々な側面や，知られている結果を証明するための道具を学ぶ．

Goals of the Course
The purpose of this course is to understand the basic theory of periods in positive characteristic. Students will learn various aspects of periods over function fields and tools to prove known results.

授業終了時に，以下のことができるようになることを目標とする．
1. 関数体上の周期の基本的な性質と具体例を挙げられる．
2. t加群やtモチーフと周期の関係を理解している．
3. 周期についての種々の結果がどのようにして証明されるかを述べられる．

Objectives of the Course
At the end of this course, students should be able to
- explain basic properties and examples of periods over function fields;
- understand the relation between t-modules, t-motives and periods;
- explain how to prove known results of periods.

1. 導入
代数体と関数体の類似，Carlitz加群
2. t加群とtモチーフ
t加群の周期，t加群とtモチーフの関係
3. 周期の独立性
部分t加群定理，ABP-criterion，Papanikolasの理論
4. 応用
正標数多重ゼータ値，Carlitz多重ポリログ，最近の話題

1. Introduction
analogy between number fields and function fields, the Carlitz module
2. t-modules and t-motives
periods of t-modules, relation between t-modules and t-motives
3. Independence of periods
sub-t-module theorem, ABP-criterion, Papanikolas' theory
4. Applications
multiple zeta values in positive characteristic, Carlitz multiple polylogarithms, recent topics
